CUURENT JOB OPENINGS -
As the Fair gets closer, the need for more people to carry out some of the jobs becomes imperative. The jobs listed below are those that are available during the dates of the Fair, August 6-17, 2008, unless otherwise noted. Candidates must be disciplined, have strong customer service skills, have their own transportation, be responsible and a strong commitment to gain the valuable experience we have to offer.
Summer Interns - Media Escorts/Marketing Department
INFORMATION SESSIONS FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MAY 15 FROM 6-8PM AND THURSDAY MAY 15 FROM 1-3PM IN THE AGRI-CENTER - please bring a copy of your resume. Interviews will be held here. 13 are needed! Duties will include to assist the media including, reporters, videographers, photographers, and station personnel while they are at the Fair. Candidates must be available a minimum of 20 hours per week and should have a major in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or a related field. For the exceptional candidate, a full or part-time position may be considered. Proficient writing skills a plus. Summer Intern - Photographer/Marketing Department
Duties will include photographing assigned stories including award winners, ceremonies, competition winners, and various special day activities at America's Fair, downloading images to the computer, editing as well as organizing all photos. Candidate will work closely with official photographer and marketing staff. Must have complete understanding of the basic operation od a digital SLR camera, proficient in Photoshop CS2 and Macintosh computers. Summer Intern - Entertainment Department Assistant
Duties include assisting the Entertainment Director in many areas including, but not limited to, coordinating the arrival and departure of the bands performing in Slade Park, arranging tickets and credentials, providing hospitality services to performers at the Family Entertainment Dome, and various office work. Intern will also assist with Grandstand events as needed. Must have a valid drivers license as position necessitates the use of a golf cart. Employment may be part time prior to fair dates and full time duirng the fair, extending a few days past the fair. For this position, email your resume to pschober@americas-fair.org.
Summer Intern - Audit & Control Department
Duties include retail auditing with testing of vendor accounts. Must have knowledge of accounting and auditing principles as well as strong communication skills. For this position, email your resume to treasurer@americas-fair.org.
Security
Vacancies exist in the Security Department for individuals interested in working every day of the Fair. Positions are available in three different shifts. Interested candidated must be able to successfully complete a background check. Send in a completed application to the Fair Offices.
Grandstand Ushers
Duties will include assisting patrons to their respective seats in the Grandstand and be able to help patrons with their questions or concerns. The Grandstand Ushers will report to the Head Usher. There will be some light lifiting required with the set-up and tear-down of the track seating for concerts.
