New this year - feed a newborn calf! Children and adults alike are welcome to visit this award-winning display that began as an event teaching kids how the farmers of today work to provide us with a plentiful supply of of safe and healthy foods. Participate in several agriculture-related activities that illustrate the importance of farming in our area! It's a fun way for kids of all ages to learn about farming, farm animals and where many of our favorite foods come from. Also visit with animals like llamas, sow, piglets, and the cows in the Mooterntiy Ward. You could even witness the birth of a calf! 
 
   
 AMERICA'S FAIR TALENT SHOWS

The talent show offers youth of Erie County the opportunity to showcase their talent in this competition. Winners go on to compete at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. The maxi-contest will be held on the Community Stage on Friday, August 8 and the mini-contest will be held on Saturday, August 9.

Learn about wood and the nature of work and craft.  Roger Abramsom demonstrates how wood-working was done before machines and factories.  Daily demonstrations will be performed outside the Historical Building.
 
NEW!  BROOM MAKER

Watch Little John as he creates his 100% handcrafted brooms daily outside the Historical Building.  The rustic brooms are made from all natural broom corn and hand selected handles of varying types of wood.  This is a very unique craft, no machinery included in this demonstration!

CALLIOPE WAGON HITCH

A calliope, also known as a steam organ, is a musical instrument that produces sound by sending steam through whistles. The wagon will be pulled by six majestic Percheron horses in the Daily Parade and will be on display throughout each day in Kiddieland.

Featuring the Pepsi-Cola Marching Band, the Calliope Hitch, Mule Hitch, and more of our great entertainment, the parade will march around the Fairgrounds every day beginning at 5p.m. Listen for the PA system announcing when the parade starts and who will be coming up the Avenue of Flags next! 
   
GARY THE SILENT CLOWN

Gary will be featured strolling through the Fairgrounds, in the Daily Parade and at his "Big Show" at the Family Entertainment Complex every day. Watch him juggle on his unicycle, ride in his miniature car or pull pranks on his audience!

 JERRY VALLEY,   MASTER HYPNOTIST

One of America's Fair's favorite entertainers!  Now in his 10th year at America's Fair, Jerry will return to capacity-sized audiences at the Community Stage for two shows daily, August 12 through August 17. His skills as a master hypnotist have brought him national attention on such shows as ABC's 20/20 and in Las Vegas showrooms.

"The Wizard of Wood" performs daily on International Avenue. Bid on his amazing works of wood in a silent auction. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Erie County Agricultural Society Scholarship Fund.
   
JOHN CASSIDY,   THE BIZARRE BALLOONOLOGIST

Performing daily on the Community Stage with comedy, magic and really weird things with balloons! John Cassidy is an eccentric comedian whose bizaare antics have earned him widespread acclaim as one of the most original and unique performers today. He holds several Guinness World Records (R) for balloon sculpting, including Most Balloon Sculptures Completed in One Hour - an amazing 654 sculptures! He also holds records for the Most Balloon Sculptures Completed in One Minute, Most Modeling Balloons Inflated in One Hour and Fastest Balloon Sculpture.

MULE HITCH

Mules are extremely intelligent, hard working animals that are the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse. An 8-mule hitch will appear in the Daily Parade and will be on display throughout the day in the Equine Exhibition Hall - World of Draft Horses.

See daily needlecraft demonstrations on the veranda of the Historical Building. Her handmade needlecraft items will be available for sale.

OLD-TIME LYE SOAP MAKING

Using a 200-year old family recipe and a large pot brought over to America from Scotland in 1905, see demonstrations of old-time lye soap making. Scottish lye soap has many benefits and can be used for psoriasis, eczema, acne, insect bites, poison ivy and oak, athlete's foot, dandruff, spots and stains, shampoo and even fish bait! See daily demonstrations at the Historical Building.
   
PAPER MARBLING

Artisan John Bielak will demonstrate the ancient art form known as paper marbling. See how pigments become paint, how the paint can "float" on water and how it is then absorbed onto special paper in stunning designs. Marbled paper has many uses including decorative note writing paper, book binding and box making. See daily demonstrations at the Historical Building.

Features bands performing under the shady oaks of Slade Park. With particular emphasis on showcasing Western New York talent, the series includes country, bluegrass, jazz, classic and early rock, folk, rhythm and blues, Dixieland and ethnic music including Polish, Italian, Irish, German and Caribbean.

Performing multiple times each day at the Family Entertainment Complex, showcasing the skills that have made them famous internationally, like the pagoda of chairs, spinning plates, bicycle pagoda and more. Shaobo Qin from The Stars of the Peking Acrobats has reprised his role as the casino-robbing Yen in the third installment of the Ocean's movies: OCEAN'S 13, which was released in June 2007.
