Positions include:
1. Summer intern: Media Escort—During the Fair, students will interact with the media, escort them to the story and offer story ideas. Any interviews requested by the media are set up through the Marketing Department.
2. Summer intern: Photographer—Photographing assigned stories including award winners, ceremonies, competition winners and various special day activities at America’s Fair. Knowledge of digital photography necessary.
During the Fair, students will be briefed daily on potential stories to suggest to reporters and/or assignment editors. In the unlikely case of an accident or emergency on the grounds, our Emergency/Disaster Plan will involve capable students an invaluable experience. In addition, our department works on a diverse amount of projects including planning and executing promotions, copywriting, designing of ads, media buys, photography, press releases, proofing, data entry and much more.
Only those that are disciplined, have own transportation, are responsible and have a strong commitment to gain the valuable experience we have to offer should apply. Minimum wage paid during the Fair. Candidates must be available a minimum of 20 hours per week. For the exceptional candidate, a full or part-time position may be considered. Proficient writing skills are a plus. Interested students should plan on attending an ‘Informational Session” on May 16 from 6-8pm or May 17 from 1-3pm in the VIP Room of the Agri-Center.
